(she/her)
I have a variety of experience working with anxiety, depression, parents and children, as well as young adults. I utilize the most appropriate method of treatment to you during the session, with empathy and understanding. I look at the “whole person” and not just the presenting issue that brought you to consider making a positive change and help challenge you to meet your goals!
In your first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and what changes you expect to see. I want to help guide you in the direction you wish to take and that can’t be possible without the first session! NOTE: For minors (aged 13 and under), I REQUIRE at least one parent or guardian present at the time of intake. I am not able to complete the intake if no parent/guardian is available. If the parent/guardian cannot be present at the time of the intake and it is not cancelled/rescheduled within 24 hours prior, I will have to mark the appointment as a no-show and you will be billed accordingly.
I typically utilize CBT in sessions to help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have brought you to seek change. From this perspective, you will be able to utilize these skills outside the session to reflect on a deeper meaning of your journey as they relate to your goals. Many clients have reported to me this is beneficial for them at the time they are seeking services. I also utilize short-term and long-term treatment methods based on your therapy goals.
I work with those who want a down-to-earth, relaxed, and supportive atmosphere, while also helping them become the best person they can. No positive change comes without taking action and responsibility, so when you work with me, keep in mind that I expect you to be accountable!
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I use CBT to help clients recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It’s particularly useful for clients dealing with anxiety, depression, or stress-related issues, as it empowers them to challenge distorted thinking and develop healthier coping strategies.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI): Motivational Interviewing is my go-to approach when clients are ambivalent about making changes in their lives, especially when it comes to behaviors like substance use, health issues, or life transitions. MI helps explore and resolve ambivalence, guiding clients to tap into their own motivations for change and helping them move toward their goals with confidence.
