I provide humor, warmth, and a compassionate, non-judgmental place where you can feel safe to share your concerns. Together, we will work to make goals and through goal-directed activities and conversations, help you make positive changes in your life. I can include faith-based treatment if wanted. This will be work, but it will be worth it. My approach I use an eclectic, person-focused approach tailored to your individual situation and goals. I incorporate CBT, DBT, mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused approaches. This flexibility allows us to form a treatment plan that meets your specific needs and helps you reach your goals. . Treatment goals are set as a team, with you determining what your desired outcome from treatment is, and me assisting you in creating the goals based on how best to assist you with the realistic goal you have set for yourself.
During the first session, we will discuss your concerns and goals. I will ask about your history, past mental health treatment, current symptoms, and reasons for seeking treatment. We will explore your expectations and develop a plan to help you reach your goals.
Becoming a therapist became my goal when my family experienced a tragedy due to mental illness. Seeing someone suffer without hope drove me to help those who are hurting know there is a way out and a better life can be theirs. This experience directed where I could focus my need to help others. My communication style I provide an open, warm, and supportive environment with direct and positive communication that encourages growth. I create a safe space where you can feel motivated to improve your life. I believe humor is a healing force and find appropriate moments for laughter in sessions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Help a client become aware of automatic ways of thinking that are inaccurate or harmful (for example, having a low opinion of their abilities) and then question those thoughts, understand how the thoughts affect their emotions and behavior, and change self-defeating behavior patterns.
Eclectic
I use different methods that come from a variety of sources. Using person centered therapy I will have a discussion with client to determine their goals and concerns, so the skills taught and the methodology is based on this presentation and discussion. that are used are based on client. These methods can come from DBT, Motivational interviewing, CBT, ACT, supportive and problems solving therapies and others as needed.
