Hello, I am Brandi and I provide individual counseling to adults and children above the age of 12. I seek to help you access your inner strength and promote the change needed to lead a healthier and balanced life. I view the counseling process as an alliance between you and I. In this alliance you are the expert and I will help you navigate those areas you find overwhelming. In our sessions together you will have a safe space to express your feelings and heal. My theoretic approach to counseling is knowing you are in charge of your life and have the capacity to enact change in your life. You will learn the bounds of aspects of your life that you can control and what you cannot. You will understand that the therapeutic relationship is a partnership in which you will be expected to put in the effort for homework, be accountable, and present within the counseling alliance. I look forward to working with you and helping you realize your full potential. Contact me today.
Your first counseling session with me is a gentle introduction to a space designed entirely for you. From the moment you walk in, my goal is to help you feel welcomed, seen, and safe. I bring a warm, kind, and honest presence to our work together, and I hold space without judgment or bias. This is a place where you can show up exactly as you are.
I understand how overwhelming life can be and I can help you learn how to handle this is in creative and innovative ways. I am able to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.
I like to work with children ages 12 and up and young adults.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy by helping clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and by teaching them practical skills to shift unhelpful patterns. In session, I guide clients through structured CBT techniques such as thought records, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral experiments to challenge distorted thinking and build healthier coping strategies. My approach is collaborative and goal‑oriented. I work with clients to set clear treatment goals, break them into manageable steps, and track progress over time. I frequently incorporate behavioral activation, exposure-based strategies when appropriate, and skills practice during and between sessions. Homework is used intentionally to reinforce learning and help clients apply CBT tools in real‑life situations.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing by creating a collaborative, non‑judgmental space where clients can explore their ambivalence and strengthen their own motivation for change. My role is to guide—not push—by using core MI skills such as open‑ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summaries to help clients hear their own reasons for change more clearly. In session, I focus on eliciting change talk, exploring discrepancies between clients’ goals and current behaviors, and supporting their autonomy. I avoid confrontation and instead use a guiding style that helps clients resolve ambivalence at their own pace. When appropriate, I integrate MI with other modalities—such as CBT or solution‑focused strategies—to help clients move from insight to action.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a Person‑Centered approach by creating a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. My goal is to provide a safe, accepting space where clients feel fully heard and understood, allowing them to explore their experiences without judgment. In session, I rely heavily on reflective listening, emotional attunement, and a warm, collaborative presence. I follow the client’s lead, trusting their innate capacity for growth and self‑direction. Rather than directing or interpreting for them, I support clients in discovering their own insights, strengths, and solutions.
