Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming and challenging therefore my goal is to provide a warm, supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, attachment, life transitions and adjustment challenges. My background in inpatient and outpatient settings provides me with a broader understanding of mental health and its impacts. I tailor therapy to your needs using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based techniques and person-centered approaches. Together we'll build practical tools, explore underlying patterns and work toward meaningful lasting change.
During the first session you can expect me to focus on getting to know you and gather information that you believe is important and feel comfortable sharing. It is also the time to discuss a brief summary of presenting problems and collaborating to set goals/expectations for your sessions.
My approach is holistic in nature to support individuals with various culturally diverse backgrounds. I want your therapeutic space to feel supportive and safe enough to develop collaborative goals. I am fluent in Spanish and English and can provide sessions in both languages.
My ideal client is someone who is open to making meaningful changes in their life even if they are unsure where to start. I am also interested in hearing what has worked well in past therapeutic relationship and what has not. Together we'll explore challenges at a pace that feels comfortable while building practical skills and notable insight. I believe meaningful change takes time and I am committed to supporting clients with their journey through compassion and empathy. My mission is to honor your story and support your growth.
Helping you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings instead of feeling controlled by them.
With cognitive behavioral therapy, I will support you in understanding unhealthy thinking patterns.
Our experiences influence the way we interact and build relationships with others. Through attachment work you can learn how to cope, connect and trust others.
IFS therapy supports the idea that we all have different sides to us and when we acknowledge these parts of ourselves, we can increase curiosity and compassion to develop more balanced life and confidence in our decision making.

Melissa was very warm and attentive making it very easy to open up and speak with. I’m very grateful for working with her, and look forward to self improvement.
