Hi, I am a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) and a License Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Michigan. I received my master's from Wayne State University in Guidance and Counseling in 1985 and have been practicing for over twenty-nine years. I help adults with their mental health concerns. In my practice I have worked with adults with severe depression and anxiety that could not function, however with therapy and medication they were able to make positive change regarding their issues. I came from a two -parent household, however my father died when I was nine years old. I was named after my mother and had six siblings growing up .

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In their initial sessions- Together we start with a brief introduction to treatment. Then we discuss what they need to obtain to improve their life goals. This will help us to create a specific plan for the client's future goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I worked with a diverse population for over twenty-nine years. As a therapist one of my greatest strengths is "I listen to my clients and will ask for clarification when I do not understand something. The ultimate goal in treatment is to help my clients to be independent and function better in their lives.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with adults who want to improve their overall life skills and get on with living. Sometimes people just need someone else to give them insight to improve their lives. Many of my clientss wanted to change their lives and I help them with adopting practices that assist to increase their level of contentment and overall well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that focuses on the client's mental health concerns. These may include depression, anxiety and/or grief. CBT focuses on changing unhealthy thoughts, and/or behaviors. I believe that life is a journey, and we all need support. I have over twenty years of experience as a therapist. I provide a non-judgmental approach to therapy that specifically fits your needs as an individual. I will work with you to help you improve your life.
