Hello, I’m Deborah Scott, a national certified counselor with dual licensure as a mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist. I also hold certification with international reciprocity as a master’s level addictions therapist. I have a master's in science in counseling psychology. I have the privilege of working with adults who are wanting to create personal growth, healthier relationships and improved perspectives.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
When we first meet, I’ll review how I handle your personal information so you can be sure it is protected. Then, we'll discuss your goals of services and I’ll do a brief assessment that will help to further outline your needs and expectations of services. This guides us in defining a treatment plan and we’ll move forward from there. This is to ensure I’m not only targeting what you need but also, to help you and I begin developing a solid working relationship.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
With 20+ years experience in providing supportive counseling and therapy, I ensure each client receives individualized and ethical service. My training, education and experience includes individual and couples' work addressing communication, stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD, healthy relationships, recovery, career counseling and phase-of-life transitions.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
If you're looking for a provider who has been working solely with adults, I'm thinking my background is likely to meet your needs. I’ve worked working in a variety of settings including military medical facilities, private for-profit and non-profit outpatient care, residential treatment for alcohol and drug recovery. I’ve served in various capacities: as provider, clinical supervisor, program manager, and executive director of a non-profit. I’ve worked with a range of clients: from self-referred and court-ordered, to probationers and pilots, active duty military, retirees and military spouses.
