I have been in the field of social services for almost 20 years, focusing mainly on child welfare. For the past 10 years, I have been a Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in a Child Advocacy Center, heavily in the field of Foster Care and Adoption, and the school system. I have a passion for seeing people reach their full potential, learn better ways of coping with life's stresses, and healing from past hurts.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is a time for you to see if this will be a good fit, as that is the most important part of a therapeutic relationship. I understand that it can sometimes take more than one session, but I hope that you will get a good idea of how we might work together. We will discuss confidentiality and your expectations for therapy. I will also want to hear more about what brings you to therapy so that I can begin to create a plan for us to work through.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in child welfare for almost 20 years, I am able to recognize how past hurts and traumas can play a role in current functioning. This enables me to work with you to identify the cause of your challenges and develop a plan to address them.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with individuals who are ready to put in the emotional work to identify their challenges and develop new skills to deal with theses challenges so that they can enjoy their healthiest life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

While I have experience with and tend to incorporate more than one treatment method, I base most of my sessions in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have provided this form of therapy with most of my clients and find that is is very beneficial in helping individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns. This process can lead to improved quality of life.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have seen this treatment method help individuals who have a history of trauma to process and heal from the things they have experienced. I worked at a trauma center for 4 years where we used this method on a daily basis.
