I have definitely done some living. I have had a career as a journalist, got married, had two children, and got divorced. Recently, I have balanced creating a blended family while starting a second career as a psychotherapist. Becoming an LMFT has been deeply gratifying. This work channels my experience and passion into providing greater understanding for others while pushing for further growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I provide a safe emotional environment where you can share what you feel is necessary in order for me to be of optimal service to you. You can expect to feel understood and have someone with whom you can collaborate and build trust. My goal is for you to feel lighter, less burdened, and even to laugh a little!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love what I do, and I have learned from some of the most effective providers out there. I have an open mind and heart, and I genuinely care about people. People often believe their problems and issues are complex and therefore require a complex solution if there could be one possible at all. My approach centers on the most direct and simplest route to eliminating suffering, without pain!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Has a therapist ever stated their role and responsibility to you? If we work together, I am working hard for you every single time we meet. As a licensed specialist trained in Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT), I utilize techniques that target the perceptions and behaviors that are in the way of positive change. My mission is to remove these blocks so you can see results as soon as possible. Many times that can happen with just one session. I'm a therapist who can help start a new journey towards self-discovery or can join the journey already in progress. I'm also interested in working with the client who has been in therapy before yet isn't sure it worked for them. I would like to see my clients feel better as soon as possible and find real resolution, not just get tired of saying the same thing to a different provider. I want my clients to be able to live life optimally, and if they want to return for follow-up or address new issues, I'll be here.

Throughout my years of practicing, I have found it difficult to identify as a specific kind of therapist or practice only one theory or modality of psychotherapy. Not that I haven't tried! I have studied some theoretical approaches more than others, and found that I really connected with some aspects of and techniques more than others, yet not finding a perfect one for all the kinds of clients I want to assist. There is one modality I have found to be significantly more effective than others, and that is called Rapid Resolution Therapy, or RRT. It's been around for more than 30 years, which isn't actually that long in the history of psychotherapy, and I stumbled upon it after graduate school. I am so grateful I did. RRT helps me assist all kinds of issues for clients without causing anyone to experience more pain or suffering. In fact, RRT eliminates suffering sometimes in as little as one session! It's well named; fast and resolute. I have been fortunate to have trained hundreds of hours with the founder, Dr. John Connelly and I have received excellent supervision by certified RRT Specialist, Jordan Boehler, LCSW. I have used RRT to treat anxiety, depression, grief, anger and resentment, parent/child relationship issues, couples therapy, complex-PTSD, trauma, and substance use, sexual assault trauma, narcissitic abuse trauma, just to name a few. In fact, I haven't found an mental health disorder or issue that doesn't respond well to it. Many clients find their symptoms for their initial therapy needs are resolved in 2-3 sessions. If you have never heard of Rapid Resolution Therapy, I would love to show you why one conversation can be lifechanging!
