My journey towards becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist began in 2004 when I received my B.A. in Theater from Southern Connecticut State University. Knowing it was my passion to creatively help others, I began teaching children in diverse settings including preschools, elementary schools, community centers, homes, and camps. I was introduced to Drama Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy as an Early Childhood Educator and never looked back! As I continued working with children, families, and parents of all backgrounds over the years, I found myself becoming more intrigued with their social/emotional dynamics as opposed to the academics of the profession. My realization led me to The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where I pursued my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marital and Family Therapy. Since then, I’ve had many incredible opportunities to gain experience through the roles of a School Counselor, Program Therapist, Private Practice Owner, and Group Therapist. Through these experiences, I've grown immensely as a therapist by expanding the populations I work with and the specialties I’m able to offer.

Hello! Thank you for checking me out! Do you feel uninspired or stuck in your life? Do you want to consider what living authentically means for you? Are you a woman who wants to create new or deepen your existing relationships? Do you need support and guidance through a specific issue? Are you a mom looking to create a more full-filled, balanced life? Then, I might be a good fit for you! My name is Jenny Evans and I am a 42y/o Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been counseling for over 11 years. I was born and raised in the South in Middle Tennessee. I grew up around animals and in church at least 3 times a week with my parents having 2 veterinary practices and my mom being the youth director. Therefore, I have developed a strong love for all animals big and small and am an active practicing Southern Baptist Christian today! I have been married 19 years to a loving and supportive husband. Marriage is HARD period but worth it in so many ways if you are willing to roll your sleeves up and dig into learning and growing together through the expected and unexpected ups and downs life with undoubtedly throw your way. I have 2 beautiful and smart daughters that drive me crazy every day but continually teach me so many things about life and myself that it is just unimaginable. We have 2 cats, 2 turtles, and 8 fish today (I haven't done a head count this morning though, sometimes they disappear ;). I always found myself as the "go-to" person friends and family went to during difficult times and/or needing advice. My passion to help others by listening and learning drew me closer to the mental health field. I went on and earned my BA in Psychology at UT Knoxville and my M.ED in Counseling and Human Development at Lindsey Wilson College. I feel such joy when I know I am helping make a difference and/or have helped someone change their life for the better. It is my passion! I feel I am a passionate and innovative leader that has worked in a variety of mental health settings. I have worked in the prison system for women inmates, crisis stabilization, alcohol and other drugs, private practice, outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial-hospitalization, and inpatient treatment. I have worked with countless clients providing care and guidance to individuals working through a plethora of mental health wellness difficulties. Nothing you can say will shock me. I am a big believer that you are your best counselor. You know yourself the best. You just need a little guidance, a little reassurance, and maybe a few new tools along the way to finding your balance within life's up and downs and understanding the importance of processing that in a safe and meaningful way.
