Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Case Manager with 25 years experience in medical social work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. When working with individuals, I try to create a safe, warm, and inviting space for you to understand yourself, gain new coping skills, and different perspectives. I use both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Brief Solution Focused, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to help you.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
You can expect in our first session to discuss what to expect in therapy, have space to learn about what brings you to therapy, and come up with goals that will guide our time together. I will ask some basic intake questions about your history and current needs. At the end, we can discuss if we are a good fit to continue with ongoing treatment.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Establishing rapport and creating a safe place for a relationship between individual and therapist is vital for improving outcomes. My goal is to make my clients comfortable with the process of therapy, understand as best as I can, and provide some flexibility about what works best for individual clients. Lastly, I use my sense of humor in different ways throughout the process.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
My ideal clients are those that have a new adjustment in life, are struggling with identity, and relationships.
