Arianne Allen
As a licensed marriage and family therapist I have particular experience and training in understanding individuals in the context of their relationships, families, and social identities. Sometimes our distress isn't just about what we're doing or not doing. Oftentimes, it's about how we move through the world in our social identities and how the world perceives and interacts with us so I want you to be able to talk about that in therapy. It's important to me that I bring my authentic self and hold space for my clients to show up as their authentic selves. The therapeutic relationship, trust, and honesty are at the heart of what I do.

First session
The pace of therapy is individual, but I will take the time to understand who you are and your background. In the initial sessions, we'll work together to get a clear understanding of your concerns and goals.
Strengths
The best part of therapy for me is when you feel "she gets it". The experience of being understood, validated, seen and heard. That's what I strive to give my clients. I take great responsibility for holding a safe space for you to freely talk about the things we normally don't talk about with people.
Ideal clients
If you're feeling misunderstood, like you can't be yourself, anxious, worried, or trapped in repeating patterns that are causing you pain, I will provide you with a safe space and join you where you are. By working together, I will help guide you in reconnecting with yourself, improving your sense of security and easing the anxiety so that you can show up for yourself and in your relationships as your true authentic self.
Treatment methods
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
"We are never so vulnerable as when we love." Sigmund Freud. Loving someone certainly is vulnerable and so I take deep care in being your couple’s therapist. As a couple's therapist, I pay close attention to the emotional and attachment needs of my clients. We all want to know from our partners, “Are you there for me? Do I matter to you? Will you come when I need you?” Emotion Focused Therapy helps couples answer these questions.
Family Therapy
I use a combination of family therapy models including Structural, Strategic, Narrative, and Solution Focused family therapy to help families improve their relationships and break cycles of conflict and misunderstanding, build bridges where there is disconnect, and heal resentments and pain. Family therapy can help you and your family strengthen and build new ways of interacting and relating to each other with more empathy, understanding, and compassion. With increased flexibility and the right tools, your family will be able to adapt and overcome challenges as they arise with more ease.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts, behavior, and emotions are interconnected. With cognitive behavioral therapy we will examine thoughts and beliefs and ways in which they impact and influence our mood, behavior and perception of our experiences, self, and others.
