Hello, I'm Jay. I like to keep a flexible approach with my clients since every individual case is unique. Exploring relationships and how to build healthy ones (especially the relationship with one’s self) is typically a top priority in our sessions. Also, identifying and developing your values will be an important aspect of our work together. I’m a generalist and enjoy working with adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, or relationship concerns. I'm confident we can find ways to create balance in your life and manage the ongoing stressors.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The first few sessions are usually devoted to understanding the most important things in your life, which are your values. Becoming aware of the status of your values will lead us to setting goals to develop them. Then we want to become aware of what is currently stopping you moving forward with your values. This is the macro strategy that will be present throughout our sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength as a therapy is my commitment to my clients growth.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I am an individual therapist who works best with adults. I typically work best with client's who want to explore the areas of their life they want to develop. A willingness to learn new tools and sometimes a new narrative is helpful in my experience. I grew up in a very rural community and I have seen the lack of mental health services offered in these areas. I welcome anyone who in these communities who may be considering therapy.
