My intention in working with you is to increase your independence so that you can live a comfortable and happy life. When working with you , I will consider multiple factors such as thought patterns, spirituality, body and mind. I began studying psychology in 1996 and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University (summa cum laude) and Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Georgia State University After moving from Brazil to the United States in 2001 I became interested in issues that can arise from adapting to a different culture.

When working with you , I will consider multiple factors such as thought patterns, spirituality, body and mind.

First session

In our first session I hope to understand your needs and offer you a plan of how we will achieve your goals.

Strengths

I often hear from clients that I am compassionate, patient and yet offer direction and tolls to help client navigate challenges using multiple different approaches I was trained in over the years.

Ideal clients

I am experienced in working with adults 20+, couples/partners and the LGBTQ+ community. I am also passionate about working with immigrants struggling with acculturation issues.

Treatment methods

Attachment-based

I have 14 years experience working with individual and couples umderstanding how we all are hales my our earlier relationships.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is the standard of care for OCD, phocia and social anxiety. I also have 14 years years experience with this modality.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

Helping you address distortion in thinking patterns and change the way you think in order to change the way you feel and behave.

Couples Counseling

Helping you improve communication and relationships satisfaction while using counseling techniques. Considering our past relationships influence our current relationships I operate under the attachment perspective in order to better understand and help partners understand each other.

Hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy uses guided hypnosis, a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation. I was trained to make therapeutic suggestions for positive changes in behavior, emotions, or sensations, addressing issues like anxiety, pain, phobias, or bad habits. Clinical hypnosis is very distinct from entertainment hypnosis. It's a recognized complementary therapy, often combined with other treatments, that empowers individuals to access inner resources for self-healing, with the goal of healing.
