Hello, my name is Kellie Harrison and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) practicing and licensed in the state of Georgia. I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee and I moved to Atlanta to obtain my Masters in Counseling at The Professional School of Psychology at Argosy University Atlanta. I graduated with my Masters in 2013 and have been practicing with licensure since then. I have 12 years of experience working in the mental health field.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be an initial assessment to gather information about you and your needs for counseling. I will create a treatment plan based on goals that we discuss. After this, going forward, we will get to know each other and my goal is for you to feel comfortable with talking to me. We will work towards goals in the treatment plan and it's okay to add to this or change goals!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I like to have people recognize the strengths that they possess and guide them to use it to the best of their ability. Let me help you gain back your confidence, work through those difficult times, and teach you some coping skills that you can utilize to make you the best version of yourself.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have experience in the hospital setting working with psychiatric patients and conducting group therapy with youth, adolescents, and substance abuse patients. I have worked in counseling agencies administering a wide range of assessments, conducting group therapy, and working with individuals and families. I have worked with individuals (children and adults) who have suffered severe trauma, abuse, neglect, stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD, mental breakdowns or episodes, grief, family conflicts, and strained relationships. I have worked with parents who need guidance on parenting children (biological or foster), a want to connect better with their child, and how to keep their sanity through those rough patches. I have helped individuals conquer their fears, improve on self-esteem and self-confidence, decrease in anger outbursts or aggression, assess their life goals and get on a pathway to success and improve on their quality of life.
