First session
My goal is to help my clients feel that they are in a safe place to discuss whatever it is they are struggling with and to work as partners in identifying the appropriate coping strategies, interventions and solutions they problems they are facing.
Strengths
My greatest strengths are to objectively listen to my clients, help them to take ownership of their behavior and to empower them to communicate their needs or implement strategies to manage their problems.
Ideal clients
I work alongside my clients to identify and address the underlying issues causing stress, anger, depression, or any other challenges. Often this issues are based on family conflicts, social conflicts or self perception. A large part of my client group are those who struggle with cultural issues if they are immigrants.. Families with cultural clashes are supported to communicate safely and feel that they are heard and understood. Together, we’ll set goals to move you away from pain and toward a life that feels supported and within your control. Growing up today is challenging not only for teenagers but also for their families.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
How we perceive a problem is crucial in how we address it. I have used this method with clients of all ages to help them identify the root of their problems and to help them manage those problems. Primarily used to help clients overwhelmed by their anxiety and depression to see that they “have” a problem to address not that “they are” the problem.
Family Therapy
Over the years in working with families my focus has been to help each family member learn how to communicate their feelings to each other and to be heard and understood.
