We believe in providing compassionate and culturally sensitive mental health support for individuals from all walks of life. Our dedicated team of therapists brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our practice, ensuring that each client receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and circumstances. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients can feel empowered to explore their mental health and wellness journey. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, or other challenges, we are here to guide you towards healing and growth. Welcome to our community-centered approach to mental health care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session you can expect a calm and welcoming space where we get to know one another. I believe it is very important as therapists to build a healthy rapport with all clients and this will begin in our very first conversation with one another. I will also provide skills to help introduce you to whichever evidence-based approach we find appropriate to proceed with.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength would be the ability to create a safe space in my sessions. I also feel that I can build rapport with almost anyone, and this can work to my advantage as a therapist. I also work closely with my clients to develop treatment goals and a plan that works. I have several years experience in working with people who have developmental disabilities so I also keep space to take on clients with Autism or Cerebral Palsy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Are you finding yourself constantly overwhelmed by anxiety? Are the symptoms of your lingering anxiety impacting the quality of your life? I know exactly what you are experiencing: the pounding chest, tightened muscles, clenched jaw, and on/off cold sweats. People often suffer from anxiety for many years without seeking treatment. We believe that holistic and evidence based practices can reduce anxiety and panic, and we look forward to teaching you tools to help take your life back. We also work with LGBTQ couples who are struggling with a variety of concerns like sexual/intimacy issues, communication, codependency, and infidelity. Our main goal when working with you will be to create a safe space for you to express yourself. We specialize in working with people who have PTSD, anxiety and depression. I also use a DBT approach with many clients, this approach helps with developing mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance. I can also help couples using Gottman Method. As active members of the LGBTQIA+ community, we understand from a personal perspective the struggles that many people in this population face at home and in society. we strongly feel that people can grow at any point in their lives and that they do not need to be limited by their mental health.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment theory is an integrative approach that we use with clients who struggle with navigating interpersonal relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

All therapists at my practice are trained extensively in CBT. Addressing cognitive distortions and developing skills such as reframing and thought stopping are used heavily in this approach.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Therapists with CMHC are certified in DBT and utilize this approach with all populations. We specialize on helping people develop skills around mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Couples Counseling

Therapists at CMHC are trained in Gottman Couples therapy and specialize in working with LGBTQ couples.
