Lina Nguyen
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Tampa Bay Area and I received my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of South Florida. I have been providing mental health services to individuals, couples, and families since 2022. Seeking therapy takes real courage. Whether you’re feeling stuck in survival mode, burnt out and numb, or weighed down by depression and anxiety, you don't have to carry it alone. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can make sense of your emotions, heal old wounds, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in survival mode, burnt out and numb, or weighed down by depression and anxiety, you don't have to carry it alone.
Please note: While I accept insurance for individual therapy, all couples and relationship counseling is provided on a private-pay (self-pay) basis only and is not billed through insurance.
Strengths
My approach is collaborative and tailored to you—I draw from evidence-based methods including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused brief therapy. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I'm committed to finding the therapeutic style that best honors your unique needs and experiences.
Ideal clients
I help individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally disconnected move from exhaustion to clarity. Whether you are battling burnout, caught in decision paralysis, feeling lost in life, or struggling to communicate with your partner, I offer a grounded, compassionate space to help you quiet the noise, rebuild meaningful connection, and move forward with purpose. I also specialize in helping clients navigate trauma and learn effective tools for nervous system regulation.
Ongoing work together
Our first session is a low-pressure space to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you here, your goals, and what working together could look like—sharing only what feels comfortable. My hope is that you leave feeling lighter and more hopeful.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach that focuses on building psychological flexibility. Together, we explore what truly matters to you—your core values—and use practical mindfulness and defusion skills to unhook from unhelpful thoughts. Rather than waiting for stress or fear to disappear before pursuing the life you want, we practice taking committed action alongside those feelings.
