Elizabeth Sarmiento
Hi, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as you are—without feeling judged, pressured, or expected to have everything figured out. Life can be overwhelming sometimes, and navigating relationships, emotions, and unexpected changes can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected from ourselves.
I believe that meaningful change begins when you feel safe enough to be honest about what you’re experiencing without fear of judgment.
My goal is to meet you with compassion, curiosity, and understanding while helping you make sense of your experiences, recognize your strengths, and find practical ways to move forward. You don’t have to have all the answers to begin; we can figure things out together, one step at a time.
First session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what has brought you to therapy. You don’t need to have the right words, know where to start, or have everything figured out. We’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what you hope to change, and what you need to feel supported. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together.
Strengths
I bring warmth, empathy, and a genuine curiosity about each person’s story. I believe that meaningful change begins when you feel safe enough to be honest about what you’re experiencing without fear of judgment. My approach combines compassion with practical strategies to help you better understand your emotions, recognize patterns, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence. As a therapist, I value meeting you where you are, honoring your individual experiences, and working collaboratively toward goals that feel meaningful to you. You don’t have to be perfect or have everything figured out to grow—you just have to be willing to start.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. I welcome clients who are open to exploring their experiences, gaining new perspectives, and developing practical tools to move forward. Together, we work toward greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, and a life that feels more intentional and fulfilling. You don’t have to have everything figured out or be ready for change every day.
Origin story
I was drawn to therapy because I’ve always believed that people deserve to feel heard, understood, and accepted, especially during the moments when life feels most overwhelming. I wanted to be someone who could sit with others through difficult seasons, help them make sense of their experiences, and remind them that they don’t have to navigate everything alone. What inspires me most about this work is witnessing people discover their own strength, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and begin to see new possibilities for their lives. To me, therapy isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about creating a space where people feel safe enough to explore, grow, and find their own way forward.
Ongoing work together
Our work together will be a collaborative process where we explore what’s going on beneath the surface, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical ways to navigate life’s challenges. Some sessions may bring difficult emotions to the surface, while others may help you gain clarity or see things from a different perspective.
