I work with high-achieving professionals who, from the outside, seem to have it all together but are secretly grappling with burnout, isolation, and the weight of relentless stress. Having practiced family law for over 20 years, I intimately understand the unique pressures of demanding careers—the high stakes, the constant 'on' mode, and the way self-care often falls to the bottom of the list until anxiety, depression and substance abuse can no longer be ignored. My ideal client is someone ready to apply the same dedication they give their career to their own well-being. In this space, you have permission the mask. Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will focus on shifting from 'just getting by' to building a roadmap for change. We will explore the summation of your life experiences—the events that have shaped who you are today and, more importantly, the specific pressures currently holding you back from your 'true self.' I bring experience, perspective and a strong belief that real change must be based on defined and measurable action.   By the end of our first hour, we will have accomplished three things: A Shared Understanding: We’ll identify the primary obstacles currently blocking your path to being a more effective, happier 'you.' Clear Objectives: We will establish a set of short-term therapy goals so you leave with a sense of direction rather than just more questions. The Therapeutic Connection: We will determine if our partnership feels like a safe, honest space where you can finally drop the 'professional mask' and begin the real work of transformation. While I bring firmness and commitment, I also bring warmth, humor and more than a few stories along the way.  I help busy professionals peel back the mask of burnout and isolation to reclaim their well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

We will also begin to discuss a framework of what you are looking for now and along with that discussion we will talk about immediate, short-term goals that we can strive for now. That way our therapy sessions will not only be a time for exploration but also a place for solid behavioral change. I use several evidence-based modalities, chief among them are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify "cognitive distortions" (like "all-or-nothing thinking" or "mind-reading") that ruin productivity as well as "neuroplastic rewiring" which seeks to actively rewrite automatic, stressful thoughts into objective, accurate and high-utility perspectives. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy which is a goal-directed therapy approach that focuses on solutions rather than the problems that brought you to therapy. We will start with the assumption that you know what you need to change but have been unable to get in the zone. We will work on your strengths and focus and magnify the resources that you already have to make meaningful change. Action-oriented homework: You will receive concrete assignments between sessions to test out new mental strategies discussed during session. We will also use validated testing metrics to gauge progress in improving the symptoms that brought you into therapy to begin with. It is particularly appropriate for busy professionals as the approach is highly efficient and typically achieves measurable symptom reduction on average between 8 to 16 weeks.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in treating the 'hidden' side of success: burnout that has spiraled into isolation, depression, or anxiety. My work frequently addresses adult ADHD and addiction (dual diagnosis), focusing on how these challenges impact your executive functioning and professional reputation. Clinical Frameworks & Populations: Specialized Focus: I am particularly effective with professionals at high risk for burnout who may also be struggling with ADHD or substance use. Executive Functioning Strategies: For clients with ADHD, we focus on practical systems for time management, organization, and emotional regulation to reduce work-related stress. Insight-Oriented Change: We work to identify the root causes of isolation and burnout, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Person-Centered techniques to bridge the gap between being 'high-functioning' and feeling truly balanced. Education: I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and maintain my license as an LMHC in Florida. I also continue to hold my license as an attorney in Florida, though I am no longer active. My transition from law to therapy was driven by a desire to help peers navigate the personal tolls of demanding careers.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I view CBT as a collaborative approach to therapy - hand in hand with my client - designed to break the cycle of maladaptive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We will incorporate key strategies such as Case Formulation to map specific triggers, Cognitive Restructuring to challenge cognitive distortions and Behavioral Activation to replace avoidance with rewarding activities.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My DBT approach balances acceptance and change, teaching mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to help clients build a life worth living through evidence-based skills.

Narrative

I help you recognize that "you are not the problem; the problem is the problem." By using techniques like externalization, I will help you develop new insights into your challenges. You will begin to see your challenges as "separate entities from yourself" and will in turn reduce self-blame as you open yourself up for change. By deconstructing unhelpful "dominant stories" and identifying "unique outcomes", you will reclaim your sense of control and agency. Ultimately, you will become the "re-author of your life story" into one that aligns with your core values and inherent strengths.
