Dr D
Hi, I’m Dr. D. I help high-achieving professionals, executives, healthcare workers, first responders, ethnic minorities and indigenous people who are often successful in their careers but feel stuck or dissatisfied in other areas of life. Many clients struggle with burnout, trauma, anxiety, depression, or recurring patterns that interfere with work, relationships, or daily routines. I know what it feels like to face these challenges—and I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to help you get unstuck and reclaim your life.
I know what it feels like to face these challenges—and I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to help you get unstuck and reclaim your life.
I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, an MS in Applied Psychology, and an MA in Professional Counseling. My integrative, trauma-informed approach combines Psychodynamic therapy (PD), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This approach helps clients identify unhelpful patterns, leverage existing strengths, and implement actionable strategies for real-world, lasting change. I take a direct, no-nonsense approach, ideal for clients who are ready to take action immediately. Therapy starts in the very first session—you’ll leave with clarity, insight, and actionable steps toward personal growth, healing, and wholeness.
First session
In your first session, we’ll explore what you see as the problem and ask the questions that help you gain new perspectives. Together, we’ll look at the bigger picture, clarify your goals, and create practical, actionable steps you can start using right away. While the work may feel challenging, you’ll leave the session having taken your first steps toward getting unstuck and making meaningful progress.
Strengths
Helping clients break free from limiting beliefs and achieve meaningful change immediately. Asking the difficult questions clients often avoid, helping you confront what truly stands in the way of your happiness. Combining a compassionate, culturally sensitive approach with evidence-based strategies to create lasting results. Ensuring that clients experience practical outcomes, not just talk about struggles.
Ideal clients
I work with high-achieving professionals, executives, healthcare providers, first responders, and ethnic minorities who want to show up fully in their relationships and personal lives. I also support individuals who have spent years in therapy but are still seeking lasting, life-changing results. My approach is ideal for those ready to take actionable steps toward reclaiming their life, strengthening self-esteem, and achieving balance and wholeness.
Treatment methods
Integrative
I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach combining Psychodynamic therapy (PD), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Many clients struggle due to recurring patterns or “scripts” from their past (PD), which require support in accepting their present reality to disengage from past memories (ACT). I help clients leverage skills they already possess and have successfully used in other areas of life (SFBT), all delivered through a structured, directive process that promotes real-world, actionable change (CBT). This approach allows clients to break free from limiting beliefs, build resilience, and strengthen boundaries from the very first session. I work with individuals addressing depression, anxiety, PTSD, imposter syndrome, relationship difficulties, sleep disturbance, body image concerns, and substance use, guiding them to take intentional steps toward healing, wholeness, and meaningful growth.
