I’m a relational therapist who is passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, their sense of personal power, and their capacity for meaningful connection. Honestly, I’m a bit of a hope junkie and I believe growth and healing are always possible, even if you can’t yet see the way forward.

In my practice, I invite you to come as you are. Your most authentic self is safe and welcome here!

Therapy is a collaborative process, not something I do TO you. Let's co-create a safe and affirming space where you'll feel seen, heard, and deeply known as your authentic self – potentially in ways you may not have experienced before.

First session

You don’t have to arrive knowing exactly what’s wrong or where to begin. We’ll start where you are and figure it out together. Think of our first encounter as a vibe check opportunity. We'll get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and start identifying where you need the most support right now. We’ll explore what you hope to change, discover, release, and heal over time. We’ll actively imagine what feeling and functioning better might look like for you. Let’s determine where you’re starting and where you’d like to be 3 months, 6 months or 12 months from now. As for what happens in between? Well, as the saying goes, sometimes the path is made by walking. Now you don't have to walk that path alone.

Strengths

I use a person-centered and trauma-informed approach and prioritize reflective listening and direct but compassionate communication. I'll meet you where you are with openness, curiosity, and trust that YOU are the expert of your own experience. I believe that you have an innate wisdom and self-knowing, even when life’s experiences may have made it difficult to access. Leaning on my clinical knowledge and intuition, I'll pose thoughtful questions aimed at deepening your self-exploration so you can learn new truths about yourself.

Ideal clients

My work centers people exploring aspects of identity, navigating major life transitions, and healing from experiences that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves or others. I have extensive experience supporting lesbian, gay, bi/pansexual individuals; transgender, nonbinary, and other gender-expansive folks; trauma survivors, and people leaving high-control relationships, families, groups, or organizations. I believe the strategies people developed to protect themselves from physical, emotional, or psychological harm in the past made perfect sense in that context. Those strategies were adaptive, functional, and maybe even life-saving at that time. Unfortunately, the armor that kept someone safe THEN is often what's getting in the way NOW. If this resonates with you, therapy is a great place to explore and understand those protective patterns, re-build self-confidence, and reconnect with parts of yourself you may have abandoned along the way.

Treatment methods

Gender-affirming therapy

I provide an accepting, inclusive, and celebratory space for trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive clients to explore identity, navigate gender-related experiences and transitions, and strengthen self-acceptance. I practice in accordance with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) standards of care. If you're looking for a letter of support for gender affirming surgery, please reach out to explore that further.

Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed therapy recognizes the impact of trauma on a person's emotional, psychological, physical, and relational well-being, while prioritizing safety, trust, empowerment, and choice. I create a safe, supportive space for clients to explore the impact of past traumatic events on their current thought processes, emotional responses, and patterns of self-protection. Some people benefit from discussing past painful events or experiences in detail while others prefer to acknowledge past harm but maintain focus on the present and future. I will always respect your preferences and limits. Your story is yours and you are free to share what feels right for you, when it feels right for your. I'm honored to support your posttraumatic growth.
