Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial session, we will focus on building a strong therapeutic connection and exploring whether I am the right fit for your needs. I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Additionally, I’ll explain how my approach can support you in reaching those goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My key strengths as an individual psychotherapist include creating a safe and supportive environment, listening attentively, and being fully present in sessions. I strive to be completely attuned to my clients' needs, fostering a space where they feel heard and understood.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients who are motivated and committed to making positive changes in their lives but may not yet have the tools or resources to make those changes happen. I will help you every step of the way on your journey.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I am trained in Internal Family Systems Level II by IFS Institute and have been using the model with clients for the past five years. Through the use of IFS techniques and the therapeutic relationship, you will access your innate compassion, curiosity and acceptance to befriend and heal the parts of you that carry attachment wounds and trauma.

Motivational Interviewing

I have been using Motivational Interviewing in my practice for the past 7 years. We will use techniques in Motivational Interviewing to help increase your "change talk" and help resolve ambivalence. Motivational Interviewing offers a non-pathologizing and compassionate approach to increasing motivation and commitment to make the changes that are important to you.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have been using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my practice for the past 7 years. We will use techniques in ACT to help you create some distance between your thoughts & emotions that can get in the way of pursing what and who is important to you. I have found ACT to be helpful in helping clients identify their values and pursue actions that are in accordance to their values.

EMDR

I am trained in and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process and heal from traumatic memories and distressing emotions. By using bilateral stimulation (e.g., eye movements), EMDR reduces the emotional charge of traumatic memories, allowing the person to reframe negative beliefs, integrate the memories in a healthier way, and improve emotional regulation.
