Do you find yourself feeling disconnected from others or overthinking decisions? Are you finding that you are struggling to find motivation and feel stagnant in the direction that your life is taking you? Do you feel like you keep difficult emotions buried and generally feel overwhelmed with life? In my therapeutic work, I have over 7 years of experience working with college-aged students providing support in navigating the emerging adulthood phase of life that college presents as well as several years of experience working with teenage girls with issues such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and disordered eating patterns/body image issues. My primary focus/specialties are related to the treatment of depression, anxiety, social anxiety, phase of life issues, women's issues, ADHD, trauma, and issues related to college-aged students. I attended James Madison University and received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology and attended Old Dominion University and received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2019. I have experience working in private practice settings, college-counseling settings, non-profit community-based settings, and in-home/family therapy settings.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

On our first session together, we will start with introductions and review more of your intake paperwork in depth so I am able to get a deeper understanding of your story and narrative that you are wanting assistance navigating through and processing at a deeper level. We will also briefly identify some goals that you are looking for in therapy.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize an integrative approach borrowing from mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, strengths-based counseling, and trauma-informed care to help my clients to develop insight and to make changes in their lives to get to the place they wish to be. As your therapist, I will build a warm and positive therapeutic relationship to support and encourage you on your journey to fulfillment. The therapeutic relationship will be based on unconditional positive regard and acceptance, as well as providing a judgment-free safe space.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My focus in recent years has been working with college students and teenage girls navigating anxiety, depression, disordered eating patterns, body image issues, relationship issues, as well as phase of life issues. I also explore various creative art interventions such as journaling or art-based activities to further assist in exploring emotions and trauma at a deeper level.
