Gabriella Guzman
Hi, I’m Gabriella, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. Over the past five years, I’ve supported adults through everything from everyday stress to serious mental health challenges, and I have a special place in my practice for veterans and first responders.
I bring a straightforward, honest style to every session, so you’ll always know where you stand and what we’re working toward.
I believe therapy works best when you feel heard and respected, so I offer a judgment-free space where we work together toward the goals that matter most to you.
First session
If you’re new to therapy, it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous, and I’ll do my best to make you feel comfortable from the start. In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s on your mind, what you hope to get out of therapy, and anything you’d like to know about how I work. You’ll leave with a better sense of what our work together will look like and, hopefully, a feeling that you’ve taken a meaningful first step.
Strengths
I bring a straightforward, honest style to every session, so you’ll always know where you stand and what we’re working toward. I combine a person-centered foundation with practical tools from CBT, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing to help you make real, measurable progress. My experience with serious mental illness and high-stress professions like first responders means I’m comfortable with complex challenges and won’t shy away from tough conversations.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult who’s feeling stuck, whether from anxiety, depression, stress, or a mental health condition they’ve been managing for years, and who is ready to try something different. You don’t need to have it all figured out; you just need to be open to honest conversation and willing to work on practical steps between sessions. If you want a therapist who is supportive but also direct, we’ll likely work well together.
Origin story
For as long as I can remember, friends and family have trusted me with what they were going through, and I found real purpose in helping them feel heard. As I began my career, I was especially drawn to people whose struggles are often overlooked, including those living with serious mental illness. I became a counselor to make sure every client feels seen, valued, and supported in moving forward.
Ongoing work together
Our work together starts with getting to know you: what’s been hard, what’s going well, and what you hope will be different. We’ll set goals that matter to you and move at a pace that feels right, using practical tools you can take into your everyday life. Progress often shows up in small but meaningful ways, like handling a tough moment more calmly, reconnecting with people you care about, or feeling more like yourself again. Along the way, we’ll pause to reflect on your growth and celebrate the wins, big and small.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person-centered approach, which means you're the expert on your own life and my job is to listen without judgment and meet you where you are. Within that, I bring in practical tools from CBT, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing, so our sessions feel supportive and still move you toward real change.
