Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) with experience helping people navigate anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the ups and downs that come with being human. I believe therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly formal. My style is laid-back, conversational, and down-to-earth. I enjoy getting to know people for who they are, and I believe a little humor can go a long way when life feels overwhelming.

Above all, I want you to leave our sessions feeling heard, valued, and hopeful about what’s ahead.

My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, speak openly, and feel comfortable sharing whatever is on your mind without worrying about being judged. Whether you’re feeling stuck, working through past experiences, or just trying to figure things out, we’ll work together to find what works best for you.

First session

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable. I understand that opening up to someone new can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never been to therapy before. We’ll spend some time talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping to get out of our time together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background and concerns, but there’s no pressure to share everything all at once. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and a little more comfortable with the process. I want you to know that therapy is a collaborative experience, and we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

Strengths

I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to help people feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely understood. I’m naturally patient, compassionate, and easy to talk to, and I understand that building trust takes time. I don’t believe anyone should feel rushed, pressured, or judged in therapy. Some people are ready to open up right away, while others need more time, and that’s completely okay. I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself and feel safe sharing your thoughts and feelings. I’m a good listener, but I also enjoy helping people recognize their strengths, explore different perspectives, and find practical ways to work through challenges. I believe even small steps forward deserve to be celebrated, and I’m here to offer encouragement and support through both the progress and the setbacks. Above all, I want you to leave our sessions feeling heard, valued, and hopeful about what’s ahead.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. They might be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, past experiences, substance use, or simply trying to navigate life’s challenges. You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy, and you certainly don’t have to know exactly what to say. I enjoy working with people who are looking for a safe, supportive space to talk through what they’re experiencing, better understand themselves, and make positive changes in their lives. Whether you’re ready to make big changes or just beginning to consider what you want to be different, I’m here to meet you where you are. I believe everyone deserves patience, understanding, and encouragement as they work toward becoming the person they want to be.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Sometimes we get stuck in patterns of negative thinking without even realizing it, and those thoughts can affect how we feel about ourselves and the situations we’re facing. Together, we’ll work on recognizing unhelpful thought patterns, looking at situations from different perspectives, and developing healthier ways to respond to life’s challenges. My approach is supportive and collaborative, and I believe in making these skills practical and easy to apply in everyday life. The goal isn’t to think positively all the time, but to develop more balanced thinking and feel more confident handling difficult situations.
