I’m a compassionate, curious, and lovingly direct human who believes that healing begins when we slow down to notice, listen to ourselves, and become more connected to our inner experience. My approach integrates Somatic Experiencing®, attachment theory, and parts work to help you understand how past experiences may be shaping your present-day emotions, relationships, and sense of self. I believe therapy is about reconnecting with the wisdom, resilience, and capacity for change that already exist within you, even when we feel broken.

I believe therapy is about reconnecting with the wisdom, resilience, and capacity for change that already exist within you, even when we feel broken.

My own life journey has deepened my appreciation for the complexity of being human. I bring that appreciation for the whole person into my work, meeting each client with curiosity, openness, and respect for their unique experiences.

First session

Our first session will be a "getting to know each other". I want to learn about the experiences you would like to orient toward and why. We will also find some body based resources that we will add to our tool belt that will be the foundation of our work.

Strengths

I think of my life experience as a strength that I bring into relationship with my clients. Not all of my experiences were wonderful, but they were all meaningful and impactful. Because I spent a lot of my life testing and trying new things I find it easy to relate to many experiences. I also consider my dedication to integrity, congruence and honesty as a strength, I think these three things are crucial in building a trusting relationship. In addition to these things I rely on presence to support everything I have to bring into session.

Ideal clients

The clients I am the best fit with are those who are curious about change, as a practitioner who works with finding ways to resolve experiences of trauma, I have found that curiosity is an essential tool. In addition to curiosity, creativity is also supportive when we are in a place of stuckness. This might sound like a weird thing to say but, I enjoy working with people who are fed up with the current patterns that are showing up in their life. I say this because, this place of "frustration" can create a lot of motivation toward change!

Treatment methods

Somatic

Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing® is a trauma healing process that utilizes our ability to observe sensations in the body. Somatic Experiencing® allows us to work with the body as a guide; build trust, ease, and security within. Somatic Experiencing® is a body-centered, bottom-up approach that helps gently release stress and trauma held in the nervous system. Rather than focusing only on talking about the past, we pay attention to the body’s natural signals—sensations, breath, movement, and impulses—as it guides us toward healing. By slowing down and creating safety in the present moment, your body can begin to complete what was once overwhelming and restore its natural capacity for regulation, resilience, and ease.
