Jerrie Baxley-Brown

I have 8 years experience working primarily with adults navigating relationship concerns, trauma, grief, self-esteem, guilt, shame, and unwanted patterns or habits.
I meet you where you are, and together we explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain. I offer support while gently challenging patterns that may be holding you back, helping you build skills and move toward your goals.
First session
Our first session includes an assessment to help me understand your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We will also discuss how these concerns affect your daily life. There will be time to ask questions and get to know each other as we begin developing a plan that fits your needs and goals.
Strengths
I bring warmth, compassion, and a practical approach to therapy. I make room for my clients to feel heard while gently challenging patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Together, we identify meaningful goal and build skills to manage emotions, navigate relationships, and handle life's challenges.
Ideal clients
I work with adults of all ages, from young adults finding their direction to older adults navigating life changes. My clients may be experiencing low self-esteem, guilt, grief, relationship concerns, substance use challenges, or uncertainty about a new stage of life. Whether you have a specific concern or simply feel stuck, we can work together better understand your needs, build on your strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Together we identify, unhelpful thinking patterns, explore more balanced perspectives, and practical skills you can use in every day life to manage challenges and move toward your goals.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe that you bring valuable insight into your own life. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. We work at your pace to explore what matters to you, build on your strengths, and make choices that reflect your values and goals.
