Hello! I'm Jaime a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland. I graduated with my Masters from Morgan State University in 2017. I enjoy working with adult clients navigating life challenges and transition. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or work-related stress. I can be a catalyst to improved overall quality of life and increased opportunities to experience joy. I also enjoy working with adults and older adults who may be diagnosed with a chronic health condition. I can help you cope with the changes to your physical body and increase your motivation to make lifestyle changes that support health and wellness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with introductions and a review of policies and procedures. Next, I will ask the reason you are seeking therapy at this time. I may administer a questionnaire to assess your symptoms and functioning. I will also ask a lot of questions about your life, gaining history and background will help me get an understanding of your life circumstances.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to build rapport, I am a genuine person that's easy to talk to. In my 6 years of experience as a social worker I have honed my assessment skills to discover the underlying meaning or causes of things. I am comfortable supporting clients from the LGBTQ+ community and those with a Christian or spiritual foundation as well.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Assist clients with understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Exploring ways to challenge negative thought patterns to create a positive shift in mindset.

Strength-Based

Empowering clients to find their inner strengths, resiliences, and resources rather than focus on their shortcomings and weaknesses to overcome challenges in their lives.

Psychoeducation

Providing clients with education about various topics related to mental health and wellness. Encouraging clients to seek knowledge about their conditions, develop problem solving skills, and appropriate communication skills. Interventions may include homework assignments, handouts, videos or other activities to work on outside of session.

Motivational Interviewing

Work collaboratively with the client to understand stage and motivation to make a change in their lives. Whether its increasing physical activity, cutting back on alcohol intake or deciding to set a boundary with a toxic family member, friend or partner.
