I’m Christara Solomon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I balance empathy and validation with thoughtful questions and gentle challenges that encourage deeper self-awareness and accountability.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood emotional neglect, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, emotional dysregulation, and major life transitions. I also support individuals navigating attachment challenges, unhealthy relationship patterns, grief, and family conflict. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, incorporating evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused interventions. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that helps clients gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, establish boundaries, and create meaningful, lasting change.

First session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, relevant life experiences, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll ask questions to better understand your emotional well-being, relationships, coping patterns, and personal strengths while giving you space to share at your own pace. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable throughout the process. Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and developing a personalized approach that meets your needs. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready for, and we'll move at a pace that feels right for you.

Strengths

My therapeutic approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with an emphasis on understanding how early life experiences, attachment patterns, and core beliefs influence present-day emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and skills-based interventions to help clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress. I balance empathy and validation with thoughtful questions and gentle challenges that encourage deeper self-awareness and accountability. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, I work collaboratively with clients to identify underlying patterns, process difficult experiences at a comfortable pace, establish healthy boundaries, and create practical, sustainable changes in their everyday lives.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are ready to better understand themselves, their emotions, and the patterns that influence their relationships and everyday lives. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, unresolved childhood experiences, emotional neglect, or difficulty establishing healthy boundaries. They may find themselves repeating unhealthy relationship patterns, overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from their own needs. My ideal client doesn't have to know exactly where to begin or have everything figured out. What matters most is a willingness to explore, reflect, and remain open to growth. I especially enjoy helping individuals connect the dots between past experiences and present challenges, develop greater self-compassion, build emotional resilience, and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.

Origin story

My passion for becoming a therapist grew from a desire to better understand people, their experiences, and how those experiences shape the way they see themselves and connect with others. I’ve always been drawn to helping individuals feel heard, understood, and supported, especially during moments when they may struggle to extend that same compassion to themselves. Through my work, I’ve come to appreciate how childhood experiences, relationships, and unmet emotional needs can influence our lives in ways we may not always recognize. What continues to inspire me is witnessing clients gain insight, challenge patterns that no longer serve them, and begin to see themselves in a healthier, more compassionate way. I believe everyone deserves a space where they can explore their experiences without judgment and feel empowered to grow at their own pace.

Ongoing work together

Our ongoing work will be collaborative, intentional, and tailored to your individual needs and goals. Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed approaches, and practical coping strategies, we'll explore how your thoughts, emotions, past experiences, and relationship patterns influence your present life. Sessions may involve identifying unhelpful beliefs, recognizing emotional triggers, strengthening boundaries, practicing emotional regulation skills, and developing healthier responses to challenging situations. I believe insight is important, but learning how to apply that insight outside of therapy is equally valuable. We'll regularly check in on your goals and reflect on changes you're noticing in your daily life. Progress may look like responding differently to familiar triggers, feeling more confident expressing your needs, experiencing less anxiety, or making decisions that better align with your values. Growth isn't always linear, and we'll celebrate meaningful steps forward while adjusting our approach as your needs evolve.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Together, we'll gently explore patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, emotional distress, or difficulties in your relationships. I recognize that many of these patterns develop from past experiences and may have once served as ways of coping or protecting yourself. Rather than simply telling you to think differently, I'll work alongside you to understand where these beliefs come from, explore new perspectives, and develop practical strategies that feel realistic and meaningful to your life. My goal is to help you build greater self-compassion, feel more confident navigating challenges, and make changes at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering to you.
