My name is Huong, and my commitment to mental health is shaped by both personal roots and over a decade of professional practice. For the past 11 years, I have specialized in helping adolescents, young adults, and families manage complex mental health challenges alongside deep cultural or generational pressures.

I am dedicated to supporting adolescents, young adults, adults, and families navigating complex life and mental health challenges. I am passionate about helping individuals build resilience, develop effective coping skills, and achieve their personal, educational, and vocational goal.

I work collaboratively with individuals and families to build resilience, promote hope, foster holistic wellness, and achieve their goals.

Strengths

As a clinician, my strength is partnering collaboratively with individuals and families, allowing them to autonomy to make their own decisions. I cultivate a bias-free, non-judgmental environment where individuals have the space to safely process their thoughts and feelings. My goal is simply to help individuals gain profound self-insight, empowering their personal choices, as well as creating a comforting atmosphere where they feel secure sharing their deepest struggles.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions to assist the individual in identifying the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I assisted in exploring automatic negative thoughts contributing to the individual's anxiety, depressive symptoms, and emotional distress, and I used guided questioning to examine evidence supporting and contradicting these thoughts. I supported the individual in developing more balanced and realistic perspectives regarding current stressors. I assisted the individual in identifying coping strategies and problem-solving skills, and grounding techniques to manage symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as improve emotional regulation and daily functioning. I encouraged engagement in meaningful activities and reviewed the impact of behavioral choices on mood and symptoms management. The client was receptive to the intervention, demonstrated insight into thought patterns, identified triggers, practiced re-framing negative thoughts, and actively participated in identifying alternative coping strategies.

I do admire her to be openly communicative about her community and asking about my own plans to address mental health challenges that could come up because of cultural differences.
