Hi, I'm Eric. I'm a licensed counselor in Louisiana, Texas, and Washington. I enjoy counseling people with depression and anxiety. I specialize in counseling men with their issues usually depression, anxiety, addictions, work stress, self-esteem and relationship issues. Finally I am well trained in Couples Therapy. I really strive to focus on a person's strengths and get them on a path of living a life that they can be proud of.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session with me is simply getting to know each other. I may ask a few questions to get to know the problems you bring to therapy as well. Usually I have some insights or a plan of action before the end of the 1st session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider relate to my passion for mental health for over 30 years and my 15 years experience in the field. I have taken in a vast amount of information over the years especially using it to understand Depression and Relationship issues.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal clients have fallen into a pattern of depression. They are good people who really do try to be there for their families but have gotten into a rut and can't seem to get out. Depression is a crafty foe and can often lie to us about how good we really are. I work to cut through the illusions and set a person on a gentle path back to being a stronger more productive person.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

After years of staying away from CBT thinking it was too boring and vanilla I returned 3 years ago. My client's and I were suddenly both happier so I stuck with it.

Structural Family Therapy

I often use Structural Family Therapy and similar therapies to reveal faulty communication patterns in couples. I like I because there is very little labeling of anyone as "bad". There are just insights into communication.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I often use principles of Solution Focused Brief Therapy when someone only has 6 available sessions such as Employee Assistance Program based counseling.
