Frank J. Gallo
Welcome to Grow Therapy. I’m Dr. Frank J. Gallo, a licensed psychologist in Rhode Island (License: PS02017) and Massachusetts (License: PSY9800). I use behavioral science principles to help professionals in high-pressure environments optimize their performance and build sustainable momentum across work, home, and personal life.
If you're looking for an experienced leader and clinical trainer to help you achieve higher performance and purpose, I'm here for you.
If you're looking for a practitioner who pairs rigorous behavioral science with a clear, practical framework for navigating pressure, I may be a good fit.
First session
To make the most of our first session, please complete all requested forms at least 24 hours in advance so I can review what brings you to therapy and assess the fit with my practice before we meet. The initial evaluation determines whether a condition requires treatment. If so, we will collaboratively design a treatment plan covering a specific goal, practical methods, measurable progress metrics, and expected duration. Please reach out with any questions before our appointment.
Strengths
You may choose to work with me if you want a direct, structured, and practical approach. Our work together is grounded in a candid, collaborative environment designed to strengthen your day-to-day performance. Instead of getting lost in endless analysis, we map the interplay between the data your system registers (physical sensations and stress arousal), the rules your mind generates, and the physical actions you take. You'll learn actionable protocols to pause internal autopilot, step out of reactive patterns, and consistently deploy controllable, high-impact behaviors aligned with what matters most to you.
Ideal clients
I work with professionals (ages 23–64) in high-pressure environments navigating stress, worry, or heavy workloads. Instead of trying to eliminate thoughts or waiting for stress to pass, we focus on building practical, repeatable behavioral skills designed to regulate internal pressure, disrupt second-guessing, and break avoidance. By training you to notice unhelpful thoughts without letting them drive your actions, you'll learn to act clearly and intentionally—perform under pressure, engage fully with family, and stay focused on what matters.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a structured, scientifically supported behavioral framework centered on developing mental flexibility. Rather than focusing on suppressing, eliminating, or debating physical sensations and thoughts, this approach treats them as internal data to observe without reacting. The training focuses on practicing concrete behavioral skills: noticing internal pressure, breaking automatic patterns like avoidance or second-guessing, and clarifying personal priorities. Through structured practice, individuals learn strategies to guide their attention and choose observable, purposeful actions under challenging conditions.
