Jesse Maan
My intake is a journey in getting to see the total picture. The intake process involves getting to know the social, biological, and environmental factors that contributed to my clients upbringing.
I recognize that even good change is scary and uncomfortable and I am always willing to continue working through that with my clients.
My experiences with therapy and the process of change have gifted me with the virtue of patience, meaning, a nonjudgemental environment where we can continue to talk about the same situation over and over again until we find the motivation to move into the action stage of change. I recognize that even good change is scary and uncomfortable and I am always willing to continue working through that with my clients. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming! I know what it’s like to feel stuck, to feel paralyzed by anxiety or any other distressing moods and behaviors. My calling in life has been to help others get through what I’ve been through. If you’re even curious about change, please reach out. Together we can find the motivation to change to open a new chapter in life for you.
First session
A client can expect to feel an instant connection right away at the first session. First session consists of obtaining background information to get a whole picture of what's going on in my client's life and how I can help.
Strengths
My strengths as a therapist provide my client with the environment to be themselves. My calm soft spoken energy helps clients relax and open up. Clients learn to trust that they're in a safe environment where they aren't judged for their thoughts or behaviors.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is anyone looking for change, to learn about themselves, or going through transitions. Whatever stage in life you find yourself in, I can help you navigate through what the best thing for you are according to your values. I'm also willing to provide a space for someone who just isn't sure about the change yet. My passion is to help anyone that is even curious about change and wanting to reach their goals.
Ongoing work together
Ongoing work looks very collaborative. I do frequent check ins with my client to see how therapy is going for them, if they feels any changes, and how it has matched up to expectations while also using measurable assessment tools.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My focus with CBT is to help clients understand how their thoughts and feelings influence their behaviors and vice versa. Using this method we can figure out how to get everything to align and be in harmony.
