Do you ever feel overwhelmed with life and the pressures of day to day responsibilities? Sometimes these feelings can be related to stressors that are currently happening or related to past traumas. I empower people to overcome the challenges of day to day life as well as overcoming the toll and burden of carrying the weight of the past. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. I specialize in working with trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. I work to help people identify and understand what a healthy relationship is and what an unhealthy relationship is. I also work with individuals who are battling depression, anxiety, parent-child relationship issues, marital conflict, general stress, and dissociative disorders. I utilize different treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused therapy, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and solution focused treatment. Through therapy you can discover a place of empowerment and strength. I look forward to working with you!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I work well with empowering men and women in identifying the strengths within themselves as they work through the challenges that have brought them into therapy. I support people in finding their voices when they have previously not had a voice. I support clients in learning healthy communication patterns as well as ways to improve feelings of self-esteem and self-worth.
I work a lot with domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.
In sessions, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, increase awareness of cognitive distortions, and develop more balanced and adaptive ways of thinking. I incorporate structured techniques such as thought records, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral experiments to support clients in reducing anxiety, improving mood, and enhancing daily functioning.
In couples counseling, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening emotional connection. I help partners identify unproductive patterns, increase awareness of underlying needs, and practice more effective ways of expressing themselves. Using evidence-based techniques such as emotionally focused interventions and structured communication exercises, I guide couples toward healthier conflict resolution and deeper relational understanding.
n sessions, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR allows clients to access and reprocess distressing memories in a safe and structured way, reducing the emotional intensity and negative beliefs associated with those experiences. I guide clients through bilateral stimulation techniques, such as eye movements or tapping, to facilitate adaptive resolution and integration of trauma. This approach is especially helpful for clients struggling with PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related symptoms.
In sessions, I incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy by helping clients identify their strengths, clarify their goals, and focus on practical steps toward change. Rather than exploring problems in depth, I guide clients to envision their preferred future and recognize exceptions to their current challenges. Through the use of goal-setting, scaling questions, and future-oriented dialogue, clients build confidence and momentum toward achieving meaningful and achievable outcomes
I practice trauma-informed care by creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment that recognizes the impact of trauma on an individual’s emotional, psychological, and relational functioning. I prioritize trust, choice, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions. By integrating an understanding of trauma into assessment, treatment planning, and interventions, I help clients build safety, restore a sense of control, and move toward healing at their own pace.
