I’m Yilian Herrera, a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking therapist who works with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and identity-related concerns. I also provide LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive care. My approach is warm, client-centered, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy is a space where we can work together to better understand your experiences, build effective coping skills, and create meaningful change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to invest in yourself, you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. My goal is to help you feel supported and empowered as you work toward becoming more grounded, confident, and connected to the life you want to create.
Finding the right therapist starts with feeling truly seen, and that's exactly what you can expect here. My approach is client-centered and humanistic, which means our work together starts with you: your story, your pace, your needs. You won't be judged. You won't have to explain or justify who you are. Whatever your identity, culture, or life experiences, they're welcome in this space- not as something to work around, but as part of what makes you..YOU
Life doesn't hand you a manual, and sometimes it feels like too much to carry alone. Maybe you're in the middle of a big transition and don't recognize your own footing anymore. Maybe anxiety or depression have been quietly (or not so quietly) running the show. Maybe you're carrying something from your past that hasn't fully let go of you. Or maybe you're just trying to figure out who you are, underneath everyone else's expectations. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to have it figured out first.
I work with teens, young adults, and adults who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, or disconnected while trying to manage the pressures of daily life. Many of my clients are high-achieving individuals navigating stress, burnout, relationship challenges, identity exploration, or difficult life transitions. I provide an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and culturally responsive space where clients can feel supported, understood, and empowered to heal and grow.
In sessions, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, better understand how thoughts impact emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier coping strategies.
I also incorporate a humanistic approach by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their personal growth. Together, these approaches help clients build self-awareness while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
