Syerita Morris
For the past 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, heal, and discover their potential through therapy. I’ve worked with diverse populations, including military personnel, youth, and adults, and I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My ideal client is someone who is ready for change, needs a little encouragement to take that next step, or wants to better understand who they are, why they think and behave the way they do, and how to become the best version of themselves. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, working through past experiences, or simply trying to find your footing, you don’t have to have it all figured out before starting therapy. We all have a starting point, and you’re welcome to begin yours here.
Whether you’re navigating a life transition, working through past experiences, or simply trying to find your footing, you don’t have to have it all figured out before starting therapy.
First session
First things first, you will feel welcomed! Starting therapy can feel overwhelming or intimidating, especially if it’s your first time, and that’s completely okay. We’ll take time to address any nerves, review informed consent and what to expect, and discuss your expectations, concerns, and goals for therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying what you want to change, what progress might look like, and how you’ll know therapy is working for you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out in one session. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, encouraged, and hopeful—with the reassurance that you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. You’ll have someone in your corner, ready to help you take the next step toward the life you want.
Strengths
My approach combines compassion, empathy, and accountability. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and heard, but also challenged to grow. I can hold space for you when you need to process your experiences, and I can also help you identify patterns, step outside your comfort zone, and take meaningful action toward your goals. My goal is to help you build the resilience, confidence, and tools to navigate life independently. Ultimately, I want to work myself out of a job—not because the work doesn’t matter, but because I want you to leave therapy feeling empowered and equipped to manage life’s challenges on your own.
Ideal clients
It doesnt matter what stage of life your in as long as your ready for change, even if they aren’t quite sure where to start. Maybe you’re hesitant, slow to open up, or still trying to understand yourself and your experiences—and that’s okay! You don’t have to have all the answers or feel completely ready to begin. What matters is your willingness to show up, explore what’s holding you back, and work toward the goals that matter to you. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, healing from past experiences, or simply wanting to become a better version of yourself, I’ll meet you where you are while encouraging you to keep moving forward. You set the goals; we’ll work together to help you reach them.
Origin story
Everyone Has a Story. Mine Started at 12. Growing up, I wanted to be an archaeologist or an athlete. But around the age of 12, I began to see the world differently. I became aware of family dynamics, mental health, the influence of culture and society, and what resilience really means. My journey to becoming a therapist was shaped by witnessing the impact of a therapist support a family member during some of their lowest moments. I saw the power of having someone who listened without judgment, offered acceptance and accountability, provided hope while being honest about reality, and equipped someone with the tools and resources to keep moving forward. It wasn't always easy, and there were still highs and lows, but we learned how to navigate the difficult moments. That experience changed their trajectory—and mine. I realized I wanted be that kind of support for others: someone who offers hope, encourages growth, teaches practical tools, and holds space for both vulnerability and accountability. Today, being a therapist is an extension of my desire to serve others and help people recognize that their circumstances do not have to define their future. We all have a story, and I would love to hear yours. Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to have it all figured out to begin. Growth may be uncomfortable, but that is when it starts and you don't have to navigate it alone.
Ongoing work together
Our work together will be a collaborative process built around your goals, your pace, and what matters most to you. Each session will build on the last as we explore patterns, develop practical coping skills, challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and turn insight into action. Some sessions may be about processing difficult experiences, while others may focus on accountability, problem-solving, and stepping outside your comfort zone. How will you know you’re making progress? You may notice that you respond differently to situations, set healthier boundaries, feel more confident in your decisions, or handle challenges that once felt overwhelming. We’ll regularly check in on your goals and adjust our approach as you grow. Growth isn’t always a straight line, and setbacks are part of the process—not a reason to give up. My goal is to help you build the confidence, resilience, and tools to navigate life beyond the therapy room. We’ll celebrate your progress, work through the setbacks, and keep moving toward the version of yourself you want to become.
