(she/her)
I am passionate about assisting individuals with improving their quality of life and daily functioning during the most delicate and vulnerable times in their lives. I work with adults, couples and families by helping them to develop coping strategies, improve mental health/interpersonal skills, and techniques to decrease life stressors and mental health symptoms that negatively impact personal functioning and quality of life. I am a Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist and focuses on the effective treatment for those that have endured sexual, physical, emotional, childhood and domestic abuse. I consider myself to be an Integrative Psychotherapist, which means I use a variety of orientations and therapies to be able to meet the client’s individual needs.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, and counseling for 8 years, I have worked with all types of clients, I have learned to tailor my approach to custom fit each client. My greatest strength as a therapist is to help you get to the root of what it is that you need and help you uncover the solutions for that need.
I love working with individuals that are eager to improve but are looking for tools to make this goal a reality. We will explore what works best and how to maximize your strengths to help you overcome obstacles in your life.

Christel McKoy listens attentively and creates a safe, supportive space where I feel comfortable being open. She respects that I am a Christian and never minimizes my faith—instead, she allows it to be part of my healing journey. She gives thoughtful, practical advice and helps me see things from a healthier perspective. I leave our sessions feeling heard, understood, and more equipped to handle life’s challenges. I’m truly grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her.
