Brittany Baker
Hi, I'm Brittany! I'm a therapist who believes that everyone deserves a space where they can feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I work with individuals who may be used to putting others first, carrying the weight of the world, or feeling like they have to hold everything together, even when they're struggling internally.
I work with individuals who may be used to putting others first, carrying the weight of the world, or feeling like they have to hold everything together, even when they're struggling internally.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I enjoy helping clients explore their stories, recognize patterns, work through past experiences, and reconnect with who they are and what they need. I believe therapy can be both meaningful and comfortable, with room for honest conversations, personal growth, and a little humor along the way.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust and understanding. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our time together. I'll ask questions to better understand your story, while giving you the space to share at your own pace without feeling pressured to have everything figured out. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and hopeful about the work ahead, with a clearer sense of how we can move forward together. Think of this first session as a chance to take a breath, show up as you are, and begin making space for yourself.
Strengths
I bring warmth, empathy, curiosity, and authenticity to my sessions. I have a natural ability to listen deeply, create a safe and nonjudgmental environment, and help clients feel comfortable being vulnerable and showing up as their true selves. I value meeting clients where they are, asking thoughtful questions, and helping them recognize patterns and connections they may not have noticed before. I also bring a balance of compassion and gentle humor, creating space for both the difficult conversations and moments of lightness. My goal is for clients to feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered throughout their journey.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who may feel overwhelmed by the expectations they place on themselves or the roles they have taken on in relationships, families, and everyday life. They may be the people others depend on, often putting everyone else's needs before their own, struggling with boundaries, or feeling disconnected from themselves. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to explore how past experiences influence their present, better understand their emotions and relationship patterns, and develop a stronger sense of self. Whether you're navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, people-pleasing, or the weight of unresolved experiences, I want to help you feel supported as you work toward a more balanced and authentic life.
Ongoing work together
Our work together will be collaborative, intentional, and tailored to your individual needs and goals. Throughout therapy, we'll use clinical assessments and self-report check-ins to monitor progress, identify areas of growth, and better understand what is and isn't working for you. Depending on your needs, I may also incorporate therapeutic homework to help you practice skills between sessions, apply what we've discussed to everyday life, and deepen your self-awareness. We'll regularly check in about your experience in therapy and make adjustments to our approach as needed because your treatment should evolve with you. Therapy is not just about what happens during our sessions, but also about helping you build skills and create meaningful changes in your daily life. With consistency, openness, and a willingness to practice new skills, many clients begin noticing improvements in their anxiety and self-awareness over time.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered and integrative therapy, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and therapy should be tailored to who you are rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I prioritize building a genuine, trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard, respected, and accepted without judgment. I incorporate evidence-based approaches and interventions based on your individual needs, goals, and experiences. This may include exploring past experiences, identifying patterns in thoughts and behaviors, developing emotional awareness, strengthening coping skills, and creating healthier ways of navigating relationships and everyday challenges. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel understood, empowered, and actively involved in your own growth. My role is to walk alongside you, offer guidance and support, ask thoughtful questions, and help you discover what healing and growth look like for you.
