Chelsea Tirado
Hi! I’m Chelsea, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent. I offer a warm, approachable space where therapy feels human, collaborative, and practical. In my practice, I support young adults (18+) working through anxiety, people-pleasing, burnout, and low self-esteem.

If you’re trapped in cycles of self-doubt or struggling to set boundaries, we’ll focus on changing how you react to difficult thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll work to help you build confidence, manage stress, and feel more grounded and aligned in your life.
First session
We will begin by reviewing your intake forms, practice policies, and confidentiality details so you feel fully informed. This is also a completely open space for you to ask any questions about how therapy works and what our time together will look like.
Strengths
Therapy with me is practical, supportive, and collaborative. My goal is that you leave sessions feeling empowered, and more confident. I believe in bringing my authentic self to my work, which includes a deep love for animals and community. As someone who has personally experienced anxiety, I understand how downright debilitating it can feel. This informs my passion for helping clients build self-trust, reduce self-doubt, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with their values.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is a college student or young adult who feels like they’re constantly running on empty from trying to keep everyone else happy. Maybe you struggle to say "no" without feeling a wave of guilt, or you’re navigating big life changes and feeling a bit lost about who you are outside of everyone else’s expectations. You’re self-aware, open-hearted, and simply tired of second-guessing yourself. My goal is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can let your guard down, figure out what actually matters to you, and learn to set boundaries that honor your peace.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help you stop fighting your thoughts and feelings and start living in alignment with what matters most to you. Instead of trying to eliminate discomfort before taking action, we practice changing how you relate to feelings like fear, guilt, or self-doubt. Together, we will uncover your authentic core values so you can navigate life transitions, set healthy limits without guilt, and make choices rooted in who you are.
Strength-Based
As a therapist, all of my work is anchored in a strengths-based approach that centers your resilience and abilities as the foundation for meaningful therapeutic change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
At times, I draw tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). You can think of DBT as a practical, hands-on toolkit designed to help you manage intense emotions, navigate stressful moments without feeling overwhelmed, and build stronger relationships.
