Hello. I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Illinois. I received my master's degree in social work from Southern Illinois University in 2011 and have been providing therapy for 10 years. My specialty is working with all age groups and assisting them with coping with the emotions in a positive/healthy manner. I assist people identify life changing events from their past has affected them present day and will work on a foundation of coping skills.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have the ability to communicate in a way that makes a person feel safe and comfortable to be themselves. I've learned to follow the lead of the person I work with. I have the ability to read body language/micro expressions which will also assist with identifying topics that may be uncomfortable for a person to discuss.

Individuals that are dealing with severe or long-term stress from a job or family situation, the loss of a loved one, or relationship or family problems. Individuals that are experiencing symptoms with no physical explanation, such as changes in sleep or appetite, low energy, lack of interest or pleasure in activities you once enjoyed, persistent irritability, excessive worry, avoidance, isolation or a sense of discouragement or hopelessness on a regular/consistent basis. Individuals that have experienced trauma, such as abuse or natural disasters, may seek therapy to process their experiences and develop coping strategies. Individuals that have been diagnosed with mood disorders. Individuals struggling with impaired family relationships.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using this treatment method for at 10 years. I have been certified with a focus on trauma. The process does not only focus on what issue that was reported but will assist with identifying the foundation of emotional issues. Once the root of the current issue has been located the therapeutic proceed to the next phase of healing and life changes.

Faith based therapy

Christian beliefs be incorporated in ways to identify and cope with emotions. It will be infused with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to assist with the process.

Motivational Interviewing

This process is incorporated with other therapy techniques. A process that encourages/motivates people to share information about themselves in order to identify stressores/emotional issues that are currently being experienced.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Have been certified for 5 years and have worked with children and adults. It's an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers.

Psychoeducation

I have been utilizing this method for at least 10 years. It's a therapy intervention that involves the therapist providing their client with information about their diagnosis, symptoms, or the method of treatment used
