My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

As a specialist in short-term coaching and counseling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is at the heart of what I do. My approach is highly forward-looking; while we honor and acknowledge your past, we do not get stuck there. How I Use It: SFBT is designed to be efficient and empowering. From our very first session, we focus on your inherent strengths and past successes rather than just your problems. We clearly define what a "stress-free life" looks like for you and map out small, actionable, and realistic steps to achieve it. The Result: This method is highly effective for overwhelmed parents and busy college students who need immediate relief. It provides a quick shift from feeling stuck in burnout to feeling motivated by clear, attainable solutions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over my decades of practice, CBT has been one of my most relied-upon frameworks because of its structure and proven effectiveness. I use CBT to help you explore the deep connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. How I Use It: When stress and burnout take over, they often bring along a wave of negative self-talk, perfectionism, and catastrophic thinking. I work collaboratively with you to identify these unhelpful thought patterns. Together, we challenge them and replace them with healthier, more realistic perspectives. The Result: For women, parents, and students alike, CBT provides a tangible, logical way to disrupt anxiety. It gives you the power to intercept a stressful thought before it turns into an overwhelming emotional reaction.

Faith based therapy

For over 40 years, I have walked alongside individuals who wish to integrate their spiritual values into their healing journey. As a Christian counselor, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where your faith can be used as a primary source of strength, comfort, and direction. How I Use It: I blend clinical psychological principles with biblical truths and spiritual disciplines. When working through life transitions, identity shifts, or deep distress, we look at your challenges through the lens of faith, hope, and grace. The Result: For clients who request this approach, incorporating faith provides a profound anchor. It helps reduce anxiety by fostering a sense of divine purpose, reassurance, and ultimate peace during life's stormiest seasons.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Burnout and chronic stress happen when our minds are constantly living in past regrets or future anxieties. I integrate mindfulness into my practice to help you anchor yourself firmly in the present moment. How I Use It: I teach practical, everyday mindfulness techniques, including breathwork, grounding exercises, and intentional self-reflection. A cornerstone of my mindfulness approach is journaling. I strongly encourage journaling for all of my clients because it slows down a racing mind, externalizes stress, and creates a physical space for mindset transformation. The Result: Mindfulness provides teenagers, college students, and women with immediate, accessible coping skills. It allows you to step out of "fight-or-flight" mode, calm your nervous system, and respond to life's stressors with clarity and calm rather than reactivity.
