Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Florida. I have twenty plus years in the counseling field. I have worked in a variety of settings providing individual, family, group counseling and education. I am also a certified School counselor with an ESE ( special needs ) certification.

I am also a certified School counselor with an ESE ( special needs ) certification.

I not only assist families and couples with strengthening their bonds, but also individuals looking to become a better YOU.

First session

Clients can expect an attentive, trustworthy, and knowledgeable therapist in a judgment free zone. We will have a collaborative therapy session to create goals and plans for a better future. I work for you and I will utilize all of my necessary skills and training to provide the best possible care for optimal functioning. This will be the only time we “dwell” on the problem. The subsequent sessions will focus on the solution.

Strengths

My ability to put people at ease and feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable. This helps build rapport and creates that “realness” clients seek. Clients sense that I am trust worthy and that I genuinely care about their well being. I am a focused on the solution type therapist, so there are no excuses in therapy, just truth and accountability.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is one who has decided to take the first step in seeking guidance. There is often times a stigma associated with counseling and individuals are more likely to suffer in silence than seek treatment. I thank you for choosing you. I know this is a big step, but together we will accomplish many goals. I love working with families and individuals who are committed to change. You do not need to change overnight, just have the desire and the mindset to work towards that change. Change takes hard work, but it can be done. When individuals choose therapy they have already started the hard part. The family system is an integral part of maintaining and sustaining relationships both in and out of the family. It is also imperative to work with family members separately because the goal is for betterment in all areas of existence, not just in the family. Individual counseling is most important to ensure we are living up to our optimal functioning.

Treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize this technique in family therapy and couples counseling. Couples find it easier to focus on solutions rather than the problems. Success only occurs when all parties are focused on solutions. Dwelling on the problem leaves less room for problem solving. I prefer to be more person centered in individual counseling. The focus is on the client and how they want to focus on to become healthy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This method is utilized to challenge the negative thoughts that generally influence the negative behaviors. Working towards replacing the behaviors and thoughts will allow the individual to make adequate changes.

I feel sooo at ease with Mrs Williams. She enables me to speak freely and address true issues. Doesn't just tell me what I'd like to hear but to face the truth
