Kedy Laurent
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Sociology at Florida Atlantic University (2005). I have a master’s in counseling at Barry University (2013), where I specialized in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
I work with a collaborative approach based on each client's individual needs that will lead to my client's increase knowledge, awareness, and desire for change.
My primary objective as your therapist is to listen and support without judgment. I believe that mental health crisis and difficulties in life are great opportunities for improvement and change. I enjoy working with clients who are feeling stuck or wanting to make improvements, both big and small. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about the future.

My goals are for clients to increase awareness, knowledge and to create a therapeutic environment to build on strengths and facilitate change. My approach is holistic allowing for changes in all aspects of life, where you are feeling stuck or wanting to make improvements, both big and small. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques based on the specifics of your needs. I use cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, solution-focused, relaxation training and mindfulness techniques.
