First session
In our first session, you can expect to come ready to assess the issue. I’ll be asking questions like what brings you in and how long has it been going on? I’ll also ask about childhood trauma and do any necessary assessments based on behavioral health symptoms witnessed or described by the new perspective patient. Clients can expect to feel heard, understood, and empowered as well as walk away with skills to manage negative emotions and impulses. I enjoy helping my clients solve their problems by educating them on methods or skills that will help to stop worry, calm anxiety, improve mood, and end patterns of negative thinking.

Trauma-Focused CBT
I enjoy assisting patients with identifying any unhelpful beliefs or unhelpful coping strategies that they have picked up as a result of their trauma. These points of view need to be replaced with reality based and helpful beliefs.
Narrative
I always interview every patient or client about their entire life in order to have historical context and understanding about how they became who they are.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I used dialectical behavioral therapy to assist the client or patient in building adaptive and helpful coping strategies to replace unhelpful or male adaptive coping strategies.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
It is impossible to assist any client or patient without acknowledging their intersectional experiences including race, culture, ethnicity, spirituality, and sexual orientation. I don't believe in value judgments, or assuming one particular value system is superior to others.
