Strengths
My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a safe environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of criticism. At the same time, I recognize that every client is different. Some people simply need a trusted listener to process life’s challenges; while others appreciate honest feedback, gentle accountability, and thoughtful challenges to help them grow. I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs and goals. I take an eclectic, evidence-based approach to therapy, incorporating techniques from: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Person-Centered Therapy Solution-Focused Therapy Humanistic Therapy Mindfulness-Based interventions
Ideal clients
I have extensive experience in addressing substance use/addiction, anxiety, depression, life transitions, family stress, women’s issues and maternal mental health. I seek to support anyone who is open to therapy and willing to put in the effort of working on themselves. I work only with adults as adolescents under the age of 18 are outside my scope of practice. I have worked with people of all ethnicities, backgrounds, religions, genders and immigration statuses.
Origin story
Growing up I was always that person to whom people came to talk about their problems, or go to when there was a crisis. While in undergraduate school I experienced a sexual assault, and I found healing through finding my voice in protests and advocating for others. This led to me volunteering for the local 24/7 crisis line and it was while volunteering that I discovered my heart for social work and being a support for others’ mental health. I believe that every difficult experience I’ve had in life has prepared and continues to prepare me for how I can help others. I am inspired to be a therapist by having experienced the power of therapy for myself. I believe everyone is worthy and deserving of mental health support in their life, and the least I can do is try to be that for others.
Ongoing work together
We will work collaboratively together to achieve the goals you have set for yourself. You are in control of how often you want to meet- whether that is weekly, biweekly, once a month; and I can do 30 minute or 60 minute sessions.
