Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in Colorado, specializing in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

I recognize that life is complicated, challenges are real, and healing isn’t always as simple as learning another coping skill.

My clinical approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and person-centered, incorporating evidence-based practices to help individuals navigate life’s challenges, build healthier relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. I believe therapy should be a collaborative, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.

First session

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time, so I believe in being transparent about what to expect. Our first session is primarily focused on the intake process, reviewing paperwork, discussing your history and current concerns, and beginning to identify treatment goals. I typically encourage clients to commit to at least three sessions before deciding whether therapy feels like a good fit. The first session is more administrative, the second allows us to get to know each other beyond the paperwork, and by the third, my goal is for us to have a clear, collaborative treatment direction. Therapy is a process, and I believe building a genuine connection and understanding what you need is just as important as the work itself.

Strengths

My approach is direct, authentic, and collaborative. I recognize that life is complicated, challenges are real, and healing isn’t always as simple as learning another coping skill. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I focus on understanding you as a whole person, including your experiences, relationships, environment, and the realities of your everyday life. I balance compassion with honest conversations, accountability, and practical strategies that actually make sense for you. My goal isn’t to tell you how to live your life, but to work alongside you, challenge you when needed, and empower you to create meaningful, sustainable change on your own terms.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who recognizes that something in their life isn’t working but may not know where to start or how to make meaningful changes. You might be navigating mental health challenges, substance use, relationship difficulties, past trauma, or patterns of behavior that keep showing up despite your best efforts. You don’t have to have everything figured out, be ready to change overnight, or even know exactly what you want from therapy. I enjoy working with individuals who are willing to be curious about themselves, have honest conversations, and explore the uncomfortable parts of growth. Whether you’re working toward recovery, building healthier relationships, breaking generational patterns, or simply trying to feel more in control of your life, I meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.

Origin story

My passion for this profession is deeply rooted in my own lived experiences, my connection to the recovery community, and my belief in the power of personal growth and change. My journey has shaped my understanding of resilience, the importance of human connection, and the impact of having someone believe in you when it’s difficult to believe in yourself. Through my work in community mental health and addiction treatment, I’ve developed a passion for empowering others to recognize their strengths, overcome barriers, and create lives that feel meaningful and fulfilling. Family, relationships, and connection are central to my values, and I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and build a life they are proud of.

Ongoing work together

Our work together will be collaborative, flexible, and guided by your goals. I believe you’re the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer clinical insight, honest feedback, practical tools, and sometimes a little healthy challenge. I need you to tell me what’s working and what isn’t. If I suggest something that doesn’t resonate with you, tell me! You won’t hurt my feelings. I’ll adjust my approach because therapy should work for you, not the other way around. I also believe in teaching you about the therapeutic approaches and techniques we’re using so you understand not just what we’re doing, but why. We’ll regularly check in on your goals, recognize progress, and make adjustments as needed. Progress isn’t always linear or dramatic; sometimes it’s recognizing patterns sooner, responding differently, setting a boundary, or making choices that better align with the life you want to build.

Treatment methods

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based therapy to help clients understand how past relationships shape their current patterns of trust, communication, and emotional connection. Together, we identify patterns that no longer serve you and work toward building healthier, more secure relationships.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a nationally accredited DBT clinician, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients develop emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills. I balance acceptance with accountability, helping clients understand their behaviors, navigate challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I’ve completed introductory Internal Family Systems (IFS) training through the IFS Institute. I use this approach to help clients explore and understand the different parts of themselves, recognize protective patterns, and develop greater self-compassion, emotional awareness, and healing.
