Salina Yoon
I am a licensed professional counselor specializing in substance use disorders. Recovery is my emphasis since I have long-term sobriety. I treat adults suffering also from anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, among others.
You don’t have to look at the entire staircase, just take the first step
Some of the modalities I utilize are cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, mindfulness, and relaxation.
First session
I expect the client to feel at ease at the end of their first session. I would also like them to be honest if we are a good fit.
Strengths
I am empathetic, warm, and compassionate. I provide a nonjudgmental environment.
Ideal clients
I would like to work with adults with an open mind, someone who is eager to lead a healthier life. I welcome those who are taking their first steps into getting to know oneself. I also like working with those who are unsure if this is the next appropriate step. We will work together to address any concerns. I will be respectful of the client.
Origin story
I began my career as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Focusing on physical health was important to me. Then, I recognized how important mental health is in addressing the whole person. My passion to work with those suffering from mental health disorders fulfills me.
Ongoing work together
Clients will know they’re making progress by taking regular assessments. They will also know if they’re making progress by feeling lighter and or feeling conflicted. Feeling conflicted means that they are working on their issues.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps clients to understand how their thoughts connect with their emotions resulting in their behaviors.
