Hi, I’m Tanya. I am a Christian based therapist and I love working on solutions to help you navigate life’s transitions. I have worked with individuals and families in crises. I have a passion to help those in need and am ready to assist you! My specialty is teens and young adult s, but I am open to supporting any member of the family in need!

I have a very positive, glass half-full, the sun will shine, there is hope, optimistic view.

First session

During the first session, the client can expect to hear all about me, in a good way. I want to share why I believe therapy is a good choice. During the first session, I will also inform the client of the therapeutic helping process,, including engagement, assessment, planning, intervention , evaluation, termination, and follow-up.

Strengths

I have a very positive, glass half-full, the sun will shine, there is hope, optimistic view. I believe in identifying strengths and supports to build upon. I enjoy working with individuals , couples, families, and groups.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is one who is willing to show up, disclose their authentic reason for being there, even if a parent requires it, and be willing to engage, even if it is listening. The ideal client should be open to exploring options on how to get where they want to be. The ideal client does not need to have the answers!

Origin story

It’s been a long and steady transition, based on life experiences, and I have a natural instinct to ask the hard questions that often times, people want to avoid, but know they must face, in order to move forward.

Ongoing work together

Clients will know they are making progress because they will be able to identify the goals they achieved from the planning process and they will feel better about themselves and their relationships. They will feel the difference in their affect and their outlook on life and the situation that brought them to therapy will feel better overall.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to identify the negative thought patterns and create a new way of thinking about the situation. I use the clients strengths and supports to create a new perspective and a new narrative of the situation that caused the distress.
