I believe in the transformative experience of true connection; connection to ourselves, connection to others, and connection to the parts of ourself that feel lost, overwhelmed, or alone. I work with women navigating the social and emotional impacts of addiction and childhood trauma. Addiction can feel exhausting, confusing, and at times hopeless. You deserve someone to walk beside you, hear your truth, and understand how life got to where it is without demanding your next steps.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting men, women, and couples through some of life’s most difficult and disorienting seasons, including chronic illness and autoimmune conditions resulting from perpetual stress. My work goes beyond traditional talk therapy. I take an integrative approach that considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Many of the struggles people face today—anxiety, relationship conflict, feeling stuck—aren’t just about thoughts. They are patterns held in the nervous system, shaped by past experiences, and often reinforced over time. In our work together, I help you understand what’s driving those patterns beneath the surface. We don’t just talk about change—we create it through a combination of insight, practical tools, and body-based strategies that help you regulate, process, and move forward. I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I also work with couples who want to break unhealthy cycles and build a deeper connection. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure why they keep repeating the same patterns. Together, we create clarity, stability, and a path forward that feels grounded and sustainable. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. My goal is that you leave each session not just feeling supported—but with a clearer understanding of yourself and tangible steps toward real change. If integrating your faith is importan, we make sure that is apart of your plan, as well.

Hi there! I want to end the stigma associated with seeking help, especially with black and brown people. I have spent years working with adults, couples, and families- helping people reconnect with themselves and each other using a holistic strength based approach. Healing is about learning more about yourself, your needs, and what support you need with no judgement so that you can build the relationships and life that you want as an individual or as a couple. I hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education, as well as I hold licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Louisiana.

I am Dr. Lawana J. Mabry, LCSW-BACS. I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology in 2003 from Louisiana State University. I returned to LSU to obtain my Master of Social Work. I later obtained my Doctor of Behavioral Health degree from Arizona State University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Provider with an array of hands-on clinical experience, which includes, but is not limited to the Department of Children and Family Services (foster care and family services), hospital social work, inpatient psychiatric social work, and school social work. I was also the Clinical Director of an outpatient behavioral health agency with locations throughout the state of Louisiana for five years. For the most recent six years, I have been offering individual psychotherapy, family, and couple counseling to clients in Louisiana and Mississippi via my private practice and contract work. I work with children and families starting at age 5. They value the benefit of my flexible work hours because it decreases the amount of time they have to miss from work and/or school to attend their appointments and remain consistent in treatment. The virtual sessions are also beneficial because clients do not have to fight traffic, have access to transportation, find a sitter for the children, etc. in order to attend therapy. Instead, they have the luxury of attending via their device and at their convenience.

My goal as a therapist is to help men feel more seen, understood, and more connected to community. Together we will work on challenging how we view our role as men and how this view has affected our overall well-being. I want to explore with you, how you process the daily challenges of being a husband, a father, son or just a man. I know it's not easy, but you always make it work no matter how difficult. I aim to give you a space where you can discuss these challenges without feeling as if your complaining or being a burden. I can help you manage your stress by discussing tools that allow us to be honest with ourselves and how we feel. Yes! I'm talking about emotions. No matter how long we ignore them they still exist, bottled up and all. I want to help you share those emotions and thoughts out loud, guilt free! If you find yourself feeling lonely, depressed, anxious, misunderstood, or just stressed out. Then your the person I want to connect with and help you get back into the driver's seat of your life.

You may know what you should be doing, yet still find yourself overwhelmed, overthinking, putting other people's needs first, or struggling to follow through. For many adults, ADHD, anxiety, relationship patterns, and difficulty setting boundaries can become intertwined in ways that are exhausting and difficult to understand. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with 17 years of experience, I help adults make sense of these patterns and develop practical ways to feel more grounded, confident, and in control of their lives. My work is especially focused on ADHD, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationships, boundaries, and the impact of past experiences on how we relate to ourselves and others. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and judgment-free. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start with what's happening in your life right now and work together to understand the patterns underneath it.

I am flexible and resourceful in helping clients identify and challenge patterns of cognitive and emotional “acculturation,” while fostering self-love and positive self-talk as pathways to healing. My practice focuses on empowering individuals to build insight, develop healthy coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change. I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and family conflict, offering guidance that is grounded in compassion, clarity, and evidence-based intervention.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed to practice in both Texas and Louisiana with over a decade of experience helping children, teens, adults, couples, and families manage anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, and major life transitions. I also specialize in women’s mental health, including prenatal and postpartum support, and I have experience supporting veterans, military service members, and their families as they cope with stress, trauma, and the emotional impact of military life. I work with clients who are experiencing: Constantly anxious or on edge. Emotionally exhausted or burned out. Struggling with pregnancy or postpartum changes. Experiencing relationship or communication challenges. Adjusting to aging, caregiving, retirement, or loss. Overwhelmed by life changes, grief, or stress. Or, in the case of children and teens, having big emotions, worry, behavior changes, or difficulty expressing what they’re feeling. I provide a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe being honest about what you’re going through. Together, we work to understand what’s driving your distress and build practical tools to help you feel more in control, grounded, and emotionally balanced. I use evidence-based approaches to help reduce anxiety, improve mood, strengthen relationships, and help both adults and children better understand and cope with their emotions in healthy, supportive ways. You deserve support that feels safe, respectful, and empowering. When you’re ready, I’m here to walk alongside you toward clarity, stability, and healing.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
