I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with seven years of counseling experience. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from FIU and an M.S.Ed. in Community Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University, including Counseling Psychology coursework. I recently earned a graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. I specialize in anxiety disorders and use trauma-informed methods. My background includes work in schools, community settings, residential programs, and mental health agencies.
At our first session, we will start with brief introductions and then begin to explore the specific difficulties you're experiencing. This will help me create a tailored treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. My goal is to ensure that every client has the strategies they need to ameliorate their symptoms.
I involve clients in the process of designing their therapeutic objectives, which means that each client can be a true collaborator in the creation of their own therapeutic process. My clients appreciate that I treat them as collaborators as we together design the needed therapeutic objectives.
Each client has a unique situation and needs different personalized techniques—whether that's through individual therapy techniques, learning coping skills, or addressing workplace stressors. You and I will collaborate as we together design your therapeutic process by deciding what matters to you and what sources of wisdom are meaningful. I'm a raving fan of positive psychology. The emphasis of therapy should be collaborating, learning, and thriving to integrate significant therapeutic strategies.
CBT is one of the most effective treatment techniques for learning cognitive strategies to ameliorate symptoms.
As needed, I explain and discuss DBT interventions that have been evidenced to effectively mitigate symptoms.
I utilize techniques from motivational interviewing to discuss the client's behaviors and to determine the treatment plan.
This therapeutic approach helps facilitate skill learning and implement strategies for reducing symptoms.
